Dr. Roman Nation, M.D.
Dr. Roman Nation is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician who practices a unique style of comprehensive medicine. He has served in the US Air Force as an astronautical engineer and a family medicine physician. Dr. Nation is a University of Southern California graduate with a degree in aerospace engineering. He spent 6 years in the US Air Force as a satellite and test engineer before going to medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He completed a Family Medicine Residency at Travis AFB, CA, and has lived in Panama City since 2007. Dr. Nation encourages patients to take control of their health and their health care. He has a strong background in traditional family medicine and has been pursuing studies with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (www.a4m.org) to provide a very personalized blend of classic and newer therapies. He wants patients to live as healthy and happy as possible.
Julia Ball, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C
Julia Ball (Niehl), DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, is a board certified Physician Assistant and Doctor of Medical Science with the team at Nation’s Best Family Health Care in Panama City, Florida.
Julia’s favorite part of her job is spending time getting to know her patients. Julia and her husband welcomed their daughter Olivia Grace into the world in March of 2022. Julia has since transitioned to telemedicine to accommodate being closer to family and raising her daughter.
Cathrine Kearns, LCSW
Cathrine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong background in trauma, bereavement, and marriage and family problems. She holds a Masters’s degree in Counseling and Psychology and a Masters in Social Work. Cathrine has over 20 years in the field and also has over 20 years of teaching experience. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process where the therapist and client work together as a team to meet goals. In Cathrine’s spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, and watching college sports.
Chasity Sisson, FNP
Chasity Sisson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a Mississippi native and relocated to Florida with her family in 2019. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 and went on to obtain a Master’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee in 2007. Chasity has experience in family medicine, community health, weight management, and aesthetic services. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys at the beach.
Ashley Collins Brown, PA-C
Ashley Collins Brown, PA-C is a physician assistant who joined our team at Nation’s Best in July 2022.
Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida State University in 2012 and completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University- Jacksonville in 2016. She has experience practicing in internal medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine.
Ashley grew up in Gulf Breeze, FL. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, and traveling.
Theresa - RN
Theresa joined Nation’s Best in 2012 and brought new skills to our practice as a registered nurse. Her path to becoming a registered nurse began in medicine as a front desk receptionist, collecting a degree from University of Florida along the way. She’s worked in many aspects of outpatient clinics and she spent intense years as an ICU nurse at Bay Medical Center. Theresa is on Mr. Deas patient care team but also manages other medical management issues for the clinic. Today she focuses on getting patients well in an outpatient setting and ensuring our medical records are as complete as possible. She also performs blood draws, injections, IV fluids, and other procedures. Theresa is a mom with 2 children and just recently a second time grandmother.
Claudia - LPN
Claudia, like some others at Nation’s Best, is a great examples of good things coming in small packages. Being born and raised in Panama City, her heart has never left the local area. As the latest addition to Dr. Nation’s team, she doubles the hospitality, efficiency, and expert team Dr. Nation’s patients have come to know and love. She’s worked as an LPN for over 3 years in care facilities, pediatrics, and rheumatogy before joining the NBFHC team. Her passion is helping people and she is working on obtaining her bachelor’s degree.
Cassie - RN, BSN
Cassie received her LPN from Haney and her RN and BSN from Gulf Coast State College. Her goal is to become an FNP. She loves a hands on approach to medicine. Cassie was born in Connecticut but grew up in Florida. She has two children and loves to read. When Cassie was little, she wanted to be a singer. Now she can’t imagine herself doing anything other than working in the medical field. Cassie is a strong advocate for patients and grateful that every day, she gets to help make a difference, no matter how small.
Scott Sullivan, PA-C
Scott Sullivan is a Physician Assistant who serves as the Nation’s Best Health Care Occupational Medicine provider. He is an Army veteran, who relocated permanently to Panama City Beach in 2016. He received a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2002, a Master of Physician Assistant Studies in Family Medicine in 2003, a separate Master of Advanced Physician Studies in Sports Medicine in 2006, an Orthopedic Surgical PA Fellowship in 2006, and a Doctorate of Medical Science in 2020. He is a multi-specialty PA with experience in military combat trauma medicine, aviation medicine, emergency medicine, family medicine, sports medicine, orthopedics, and occupational medicine. In his free time, Scott enjoys days on the beach, traveling to unplanned places, arts, live music, and chocolate.
Charly Barker, FNP
Charly Barker is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. She obtained her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University in Chicago where she specialized in Family Medicine. She has experience in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine where she has cared for patients in the outpatient and hospital. Charly’s critical care experience extended to the Intensive Care Unit where she worked for many years as a critical care registered nurse.
Apart from providing the best care possible to her all of her patients, she loves spending time with her husband, five kids, and three birds.
